MIAMI (Sept. 11, 2019) – The South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) will host its annual Backyard Bash on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. This free event will take place on the Center’s Concert Lawn and marks the official debut of SMDCAC’s 2019-2020 season, which includes highlights such as an award-winning Broadway tour, world-famous Rock band and stars from “America’s Got Talent.” Headlining the event is Classic Albums Live, a fan-favorite group who will present a pitch-perfect recreation of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ classic album “Damn the Torpedoes.”
Other featured artists include Miami-based DJ Le Spam and Albert Castiglia. DJ Le Spam is the founder of Spam Allstars and is known for his rare and hard-to-find vinyl collection, which includes Latin, Funk, Miami-bass, Haitian, Jazz, and more. Albert Castiglia is an artist with a 20-year career as a bluesman who rose to fame as the lead guitarist for Junior Wells.
In addition to live music performances, food and drinks will be available for purchase. Guests can indulge in a variety of food vendors, craft beers, and cocktails from bars located throughout the lawn. They will also have the opportunity to tour the Center and get first pick on tickets to this season’s lineup of performances.
Backyard Bash is for all ages and will include a kid’s zone with activities for the whole family. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. No coolers are permitted. A ticket is required for entry and can be obtained by calling (786) 573-5300 or clicking here. Registration opens on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Beer packages are also available for purchase at $25 in advance or $30 the day of.
