In tango, the couple is everything. In modern dance, the individual rules. In Sin Salida, the adventurous Argentine-French tango troupe Union Tanguera and American contemporary choreographer Kate Weare create a riveting dance narrative around our most basic needs – to be together, and to be independent. Set to original and traditional tango music, Sin Salida (No Exit) is a passionate dance exploration of what it means to be human.

Before the show
Enjoy a pre-show conversation at 6:30pm in our Lab Theater, moderated by journalist Jordan Levin with company directors and special guests before their anticipated performances at SMDCAC. Hear from the artistic director of Union Tanguera, Esteban Moreno for the first half of our talk. He will be joined by Professor Octavio Bueno, chair of the philosophy department at University of Miami and Monica Llobet of Alma De Tango and IDO World Tango Champion. "Dance Talks" are free and open to the community.

After the show
A post show discussion will also take place immediately following the performance in the Main Stage also moderated by Levin.
