Grammy nominee, legendary percussionist, and radio personality Sammy Figueroa has long been regarded as one of the world’s great musicians. Sammy and his players will be paying tribute to the music of Cal Tjader, the original cool Latin jazz arranger/composer whose celestial vibraphone sound, along with the percussion of Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo, brought a whole new angle to Latin jazz in the '60's with big radio hits such as "Soul Sauce" and "Sally's Tomato" (featured in the Audrey Hepburn movie 'Breakfast At Tiffany's").
Get out of the heat and cool off with the swinging sounds of Cal Tjader as interpreted by the best Latin players in South Florida. Dancers are welcome!
