With contagious and gloriously musical dancing, the Limón Dance Company is making the classics alive for today, and delighting with vibrant contemporary choreographic voices:
“…Suddenly they looked more like today” Wendy Perron, Dance Magazine
“The front ranks of American dance, a spot it deserved then, and deserves now.” Elizabeth Zimmer, The Village Voice
“(Limon’s) repertoire, brilliantly performed by a new generation of dancers, still affects us today…The troupe appears re-vitalized.” Robert Johnson, Dance Enthusiast
“As a highlight of the 2018 Pillow season, it was stunning to experience.” Charles Giuliano, Berkshire Fine Arts,
For this program, The Limón Dance Company brings two of José Limón’s masterworks: The Exiles, an intimate and moving story of immigrants and refugees everywhere, and Psalm, a sweeping choreographic achievement of urgency, joy, anguish, and rhythmic vibrancy. In fiercely contemporary contrast, the digital world envelops the dancers in Radical Beasts in the Forest of Possibilities from choreographer Francesca Harper, and Colin Connor’s The Weather in the Room, is a fresh, playful and touching take on how relationships shift like weather itself.
