Adele Myers and Dancers is a Miami-based nationally acclaimed female dance theater company in residence in the SMDCAC Lab Theater. During the two-year commissioned residency, the company will create their new work-T.W.I.S.T. (These Women in Space and Time) featuring robust physicality, film, visual art and audience-friendly interaction delivered with wit and personal theatricality. The two-year residency will culminate in the evening-length World Premiere of T.W.I.S.T during the SMDCAC 2021-2022 season. April 9-11, 2021 The company will perform an excerpt from T.W.I.S.T along with existing AMD repertory not yet performed in Miami. In addition to the SMDCAC commission, Adele Myers and Dancers is a recipient of the prestigious National Dance Project Production grant supporting the development and national tour of T.W.I.S.T following the premiere. According to Roslyn Sulcas of NY Times. “Ms. Myers can indeed shape and onstage world.”

Run time: 60 minutes with a 15 min. intermission

This performance of Adele Myers and Dancers: T.W.I.S.T is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the State of Florida. This presentation  was also made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA). NEFA's National Dance Project is generously supported with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with funding for special initiatives from the Barr Foundation, the Boston Foundation, and the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation..

Recommended for ages 10+. All patrons entering the theater require a ticket, regardless of age. Outside food & beverage are not allowed into the venue. Strollers are not permitted inside the auditorium. Student, Senior, Military, and Group (10+) Discounts are available in person only.  Please contact the Box Office for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:  In preparation for your arrival, the Center has taken numerous precautions to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees. The following is list of measures we are taking for a safe re-opening following the guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Miami-Dade County’s New Normal Guide.

  • Patrons must wear a face mask or a protective face covering upon entering the premises and within shared spaces. Face masks and coverings may be removed once seated at designated pod.
  • Temperature checks
  • Reduced audience capacity
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been located at all entryways, and high traffic areas
  • Floor marking to assist in maintaining social distancing
  • Outdoor seating “pods” spaced beyond the minimum 6’ requirements
  • Staff training conducted in advance on CDC, and Miami-Dade County Covid-19 related protocols and procedures
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures including disinfecting all high touch surfaces
  • Touchless faucets, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers have been installed where possible
  • Open lid garbage and recycle bins are in place
  • Temporary reduction or elimination of concessions

In the event that the Center must cancel this event, the following options will be available to patrons:

  • Receive a refund
  • Exchange your ticket for a gift certificate
  • Exchange your ticket for an alternate show
