Qualifications:

5 years or greater professional stage/theatrical audio technician or engineer.  Theatrical and entertainment stage audio experience, including show design and experience as a head or assistant audio technician, or live mix audio engineer.  The applicant must demonstrate live sound mixing expertise. Strong leadership and experience managing load in and show crews of 4-16 IATSE and non IATSE stagehands is a must.

Responsibilities:

Supervise all audio/visual crews for load-in, set up, operation and load-out of all stage productions. The head audio/ visual technician will supervise electrical and video crews during all work/ maintenance calls operating and maintaining all theatre audio/ visual systems.

Operating, repairing, and maintaining all in house audio/visual equipment. Including but not limited to speakers, paging systems, infrared hearing devices, house audio circuits, cabling, soundboards, amplifiers, sound web system, video projectors, audio/video playback devices, and video switchers.

The applicant must show proficiency in modern stage audio/video technology, digital sound reinforcement, signal flow, digital audio measurement, and digital BSS processing equipment, and must be experienced in operation of digital & analog audio control boards specifically the Digidesign SC48.

Computer skills:

PC & MAC- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Avid Pro-tools, Q Lab, d&b R-1 remote software.

The Head Audio technician/engineer works with the Theater Production Manager, Head Carpenter, and Head Electrician in discussing the daily schedule to determine safest and most efficient use of crew and resources.

Crossing over departmental lines to assist in the areas of video, carpentry, fly rail, properties, and electrics is a must for a well-rounded member of the house crew.

The position requires managerial skills to lead, oversee and work as a team with all employees and presenters of the The Moss Center.

Compensation: 40hrs /weekly - Full time, $27.84 p/hr. plus applicable overtime as needed.  Based on current rates of the IATSE local 500 contract.
