Born in Miami, Stephan Fons attended magnet dance programs in school as well as extracurricular training at Miami Youth Ballet starting at age 9. After graduating New World School of the Arts high school in 2005, Stephan began teaching ages 8-18 at Miami Youth Ballet in styles which included Ballet, Tap, and Contemporary dance. He has since expanded his teaching to not only include the South Dade Cultural Arts Center dance program, but also students at South Florida Ballet. After eleven years of teaching, Stephan joined Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami for their inaugural season and continues to be a grateful member of the company. Now in its third season, Stephan has already had the opportunity to tour and perform on renowned stages such as the Joyce theater in New York City and Jacobs Pillow in Massachusetts. In his fourteenth-year teaching and third year as a company dancer, Stephan has also returned to academic studies and aspires to one day complete a master’s program in nursing.
